What is the Island Newcomers Club?

The Newcomers Club is a group of new residents to St. Simons Island and Sea Island annually numbering between 300 – 400 people. The Club is open to couples and singles, both men and women. See MEMBERSHIP for more information.  

What does the Newcomers Club do?

The Club engages in a broad group of activities to fit many lifestyles. The activities range from active to less active. It’s your choice of what you choose to participate in. See our pages on Newcomers Nights Out, Island Adventures, Activities and Volunteering to learn more about the life in the Club.  

How do I sign up?

New members and returning members can sign up online at our New Member Signup Page.  

What are the membership requirements?

Membership is available to new residents to St Simons Island or Sea Island. Members must join within two years of arriving and may continue for four consecutive years. See MEMBERSHIP Membership year is from June 1 through May 31, there are no partial memberships – year 1 of 4 maximum starts upon initial registration. What if I don’t have a computer?

The website is also accessible by your smartphone or tablet. Computers with internet access are also located at: SIMONS ISLAND PUBLIC LIBRARY 530A Beachview Drive St. Simons Island, GA 31522  

What if I don’t have an email account?

Free email accounts are available at many locations online, including Gmail at https://www.google.com/. It is necessary to have an email linked to your account because that is the only communication vehicle used by the club.  The club sends information to the members about events, club activities and other general information by email.  

I like the picture used in last year’s membership directory; how can I use the same picture again for the current year directory?

The membership directory is no longer in a print format – it is only available  online for current members. Profile pictures may be uploaded to your member profile by logging in and updating your picture. You may update your profile picture as often as you like.  

Can I provide a picture as a new member or replace last year’s picture with a new one?

Yes, pictures may be uploaded to your member profile as often as you like. You can upload photos taken with your phone once you are logged into your member portal.  

If I sign up for an Island Adventure and cannot go, do I receive a refund?

There is no refund.  You are responsible for finding a replacement for your ticket on the adventure.  The best way is to advertise on INC Facebook Group or ask around to other INC members. Refunds will only be issued if the event is cancelled by the club.  

I wanted to go on an Island adventure and it sold out before I could sign up.

Don’t worry!  Island Adventures plans duplicates of the same Adventures during the year. Also, remember, that you can be a member for 4 years and the adventures will be available again the next year.  

How is the cost of the Island Adventure determined?

The price that is charged to a member for the adventure is what INC is charged plus the taxes and tips.  Also, included in the price is a $2.00 charge for the credit card processing fee.  

I have out of town company and want to take them along on the Adventure.  Is this allowed?

Guest(s) of members are welcome as long as there is space available following the sign-up of all member who wish to participate. Members may not bring the same guest(s) to more than two events in a Club year.
