Island Adventure: Little Raccoon Key

Hibachi Dinner & Coastal Ecology at Sunset

Step into one of the Golden Isles’ most untouched barrier islands for an evening that blends food, nature, and discovery.

Join us for a guided Island Adventure to Little Raccoon Key, where the journey itself is part of the experience—and the island becomes our outdoor classroom.

The Experience

We’ll depart mid-afternoon and cruise through tidal creeks and open water (~1.5 hours each way). Once ashore, we’ll spend ~1.5 hours on the island, focusing on the rich ecology that makes this area so special.

While on the island, we’ll explore and discuss:

• Coastal birds – skimmers, waders, and seasonal visitors
• Marsh nesting behavior, including occasional finds of warbler eggs hidden in marsh grass nests
• Oysters and shell reefs and their role in protecting shorelines
• Marsh life – from minks and rabbits to wild hogs and other signs of island wildlife

As the light softens, we’ll gather for a hibachi-style early dinner, cooked on-site, and enjoy an unforgettable sunset over the marsh and Atlantic before heading back as dusk settles in.

Space is limited to 49.  We will need a minimum of 25 to keep the trip on the books.  Note: All events are non-refundable unless cancelled by the club.
