Commemorative Bowl: Bob Meier

This month’s bowling night is a little special.

We’re gathering not just to roll a few frames, but to spend time together in the spirit of Bob Meier, who so beautifully embodied what this group is about: showing up, making room for others, and finding joy in simple moments shared.

Whether you bowled with us over the years or you’re brand new to Island Newcomers, please know this is a fun, non-competitive group. There are plenty of laughs, the occasional strike or spare, and lots of easy conversation. Bob loved this group and the sense of connection it created, and we hope you’ll join us in that same spirit.

• Date: Monday, February 2, 2026

• Time:

  • Arrive between 6:00–6:15 PM

  • Bowling begins promptly at 6:30 PM

• Cost: $15 (includes shoe rental) – bring cash to pay Brian Watson

• Games: We usually bowl 3 games, with the option for a 4th since bowling is unlimited until 9:00 PM

We often place men and women on separate lanes simply for pacing, but if you’d like to bowl with your partner or a specific friend, just let us know when you register.

Guests and spectators are always welcome—please include their names when you sign up.

No outside food or drink is permitted, but StrikeZone offers food and a bar on site.

This evening is about being together—easy fun, open lanes, and the kind of presence Bob brought so naturally. We hope you’ll come share it with us.
